Description
I bought this boat for my wife because we were going to winter in Florida. Unfortunately she can not wrap here mind around skiing with alligators so the boat is for sale again. Following is a description of the boat from the person I bought it from. He is available to speak with interested buyers. The boat is located in Ft Myers, Florida. Please note that although the engine starts and shifts smoothly, it needs to have the motor mounts replaced. I have reduced the asking price for a quick sale. After reading the following description if you are interested - lets talk.
1987 Ski Centurion Barefoot Warrior with 1986 VMPRO custom trailer made specifically for the boat. This was a project and I spent two years restoring the boat, motor and trailer. A new transom and stringers were installed, overlayed with a new marine plywood floor and carpeting. All new instruments were installed, as well as all new wiring and navigation lights. The 150HP Mercury two stroke motor was professionally overhauled by Precision Marine, and I elected to remove the oil injection after speaking with the mechanic. Failure of the oil injection system was a common problem on the older two stroke engines, resulting in the demise of the engine, so I went with the pre-mix option When I restored the engine cowling, the motor was represented as a 200HP motor, and thus the 200 decal. It was determined to be a 150 during the overhaul. The trailer was stripped and completely redone. Like the amp and fuel gauge, the water temperature gauge is brand new, but not wired. Both speedos work great, only +/-1 mph from the GPS app on my phone. The boat will do 48mph, has the three bottom skegs common to all ski boats, and an oversized ski pylon, common to all barefoot outboard boats. There is also a brand new Die Hard battery. Both front bolster seats, which are also new, are fully adjustable front and back, and also rotate 360 degrees. There is hardly any wake, making slalom and barefoot skiing a breeze. The motor is extremely fuel efficient, much better (and lighter) than the newer four strokes. There is also a custom cover for the boat, but it is not waterproof, although it can be treated to make it so. It’s a fun boat, and a great ski boat. Only selling because it was a challenging and fun project and now it’s completed. For myself I have a 35th Anniversary MasterCraft ski boat, and am currently restoring a 1994 Ski Brendella. I have hundreds of pictures of the restoration so that you can see for yourself just how meticulous it was.
