Bode Bulfer, from Northfield, Minnesota, began waterskiing at just three years old. By the age of five he was competing in ski tournaments, and at seven he qualified for his first Nationals. This past year was another standout season for Bode. He spent much of the summer skiing up in the Boys 4 Division, working to earn overall scores for the upcoming U17 World Championships next spring in Argentina. Some of his season highlights include a personal best in Jump at 148 feet, a Trick PB of 7,040 points, and a Slalom PB of 3 at 35 off at 36 mph. In addition to achieving an Open rating in Trick, Bode also earned an Open Overall rating. At Nationals, he brought home gold medals in Boys 3 Overall, Boys 3 Jump, and Boys 3 Trick. With Minnesota's short ski season, Bode makes every day on the water count-training almost daily throughout the summer. A key part of his success is his lifelong skiing partner and older brother, George, who continues to challenge and encourage him. The brothers are each other's biggest supporters and motivators. |
